Man, this is horrific. Every time you look at today's CC/Rambler and TA Mustang projects and wonder what we're thinking, just remember the days when CC built the likes of Jeeps, Pintos, Hondas, and-yes-even AMC Pacers. Not that something funky-cool couldn't be done with a Pacer today, but that sure wouldn't include the fiberglass Porsche nose job and van-sourced wheel flares then-editor John Dianna added to this one. His story in the Jan. '76 issue went so far as to claim that the Pacer was road-race ready with little more than ACDelco heavy-duty coilover shocks and H50-14 Formula 1 Super Stock rubber. Wow. It had a cb and one of those really bad woodgrain steering wheels, too. This photo is an outtake from the cover shoot for that same issue. It looks like it was shot in someone's living room with all that swank wood paneling. Nostalgia is not always pretty.
