Blowing The Doors OffJustin Bankston went for a wild ride during Pro Nitrous qualifying at the ADRL Outlaw Pro Mod event in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, in February when his '03 Corvette went into severe tire shake, breaking off the oil filter and spraying oil all over the rear tires. The oil ignited on the car's headers, creating an orange fireball as the car rolled over on its roof and slid through the traps upside down at more than 100 mph. "It was actually a soft ride," Banston said later. "I've watched a lot of wrecks on TV and always imagined how the guys feel as far as jarring and injuries go, but when it hit the wall and was spinning on its roof it was really a pretty soft ride."
