Ford engine swaps can be tricky. There are two different series of big-blocks, each with unique dimensions, mounts, and bellhousing bolt patternsand those are the easy series to keep track of! On the small-block side of the street, there are four different deck heights, two different engine-mount configurations, three different bellhousing bolt patterns
not to mention variations in the amount of external imbalance (which calls for different flywheels and harmonic balancers). Some masochist has to attempt to sort this stuff out; namely, yours truly
so here we go! Well concentrate on V-8 applications here; who cares about anything whimpier?
